  8. The Taurids result from Comet Encke. While 
  9. few in number they produce many fireballs.
  10. This shower was one of the greatest in 
  11. the 11th century, but has slowly declined
  12. since then. The meteors are quite slow, 
  13. usually less than 18 miles/sec.
